DR. JUDIT ZELCSÉNYI, pediatrician, chief physician
I am pleased to welcome this niche product of Edit Gazsovics Dankuliné, which is a worthy continuation and enrichment of her book written a few years ago. Launching the website is an essential help not only for mothers, but as a physician I can safely say that it will provide many „wow” moments for nurses and doctors as well.
Edit’s „particular technique”, i.e. treating the muscles and connective tissues of her tiny patients during exercise, is unique. Few people are familiar with it, unfortunately much less than how many babies would benefit from this kind of treatment. Many times, even within the official health care system, concerned parents are encouraged to overlook small asymmetries or minor tonal disorders, saying that „s/he will outgrow it” or the parent is „overreacting”. Due to today’s hectic schedules, overbooked consultations and lack of time, these small asymmetries and muscle-tone disturbances may even remain unnoticed.
I am in the fortunate position to have been able to rely on the author’s work during my patients’ treatment for the past 17 years. I have experienced first hand the difference in locomotor and neurological development between dynamically treated and untreated children.
Among my patients there are no babies who „cannot nurse”, no „colicky” babies, and no babies whom „if I lay him/her on his/her back (or stomach) s/he just cries”, etc. With the help of D.G.Edit, the motor development of every infant has been returned to its normal channel, thus laying the foundation for the healthy development of the nervous system.
On the website, Edit provides just the right amount of information for a lay-person to understand. She helps us recognize small deviations, while emphasizing that we should only attempt to treat minor discrepancies. She also provides guidance on where the boundaries are between minor deviations and ones that require professional help.
Presentation of the theory is excellent. We receive just the right amount of information for the non-professional to understand, yet it still provides all necessary professional information. This chapter also drew an „aha” exclamation from several of my colleagues.
We also get an answer to why things are important, e.g. why a „skewed” posture resulting from „poor intrauterine lying position” is not just a mechanical problem „to outgrow”.
Finally, we can also understand why it is so important for mothers not to proudly exclaim - „how strong the apple of their eye is, s/he didn’t even crawl and is already standing”, - but instead to pay attention to the correct order of motor development stages and to make sure none of them is missed. We see how muscular functioning affects mental development, how behavioral difficulties, attention deficit disorders, dyslexia, etc. that manifest 5-7 years later can be traced back to an even just slightly flawed motor development.
Demonstration of the implementation of exercises is broken down into a step by step, month by month program, making it perfectly understandable for everyone. The exercises can easily be imitated and carried out, thus ensuring that it is possible for anyone to practice them with their babies at home.
What makes the site perfect is drawing attention to the possibility of mistakes and the need to consult a specialist. It would be wonderful if this unique opportunity would be found not only by mothers, but also by every pediatrician and every nurse!
Finally, I would like to once again highlight the high level of professionalism with which this work was undertaken. I believe it deserves a „the BEST” rating.
